- Flexible (or elastic) constitution: the kind of constitution that can be easily be changed
- Rigid (or inelastic) constitution: a constitution that cannot be changed easily
- Unwritten constitution: a constitution where the provisions are not contained in a document
- Written constitution: a constitution where the provisions are all contained in a single document
