23-11-2015 13:57:00 +0000Interested Applicant are hereby informed that admission into the pre-degree programme in Arts, Arts Education, Agriculture, Engineering and Technology, Science and Science Education at the University of Ilorin for the 2015/2016 academic session has commenced .
What is Remedial/Pre-Degree ProgrammeThe programme is an intensive coaching curriculum aims at ensuring adequate exposure to fundamentals of concepts and preparation of eligible students for University admission and a good head-start for University work. The courses of study which are those of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) subjects include English Language which is compulsory for all students, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Economics, Geography, Government, English Literature and Religious Studies. Students are required to choose three subjects in addition to English. The end of the programme usually precedes the beginning of the University academic session. Closures of the University do not affect the programme.
Venue : The venue of the programme shall be at the School of Preliminary Studies, Fufu, Ilorin South Local Government Headquarters, Kwara State.
Duration: The programme is for duration of two semesters (one academic session)
Admission Requirements
(a) Qualification:
1. Arts and Arts Education:
I. Applicants must pass five subjects at Credit level at not more than two sittings in the SSCE/GCE organized by WAEC, NECO, NABTEB and should include the major subject of study. Note that Credit pass in English Language and Mathematics is compulsory for eventual admission into any programme at the University of Ilorin.
ii. Two of the five subjects must be from Arts while the rest three may be from the Social Sciences.
Note: There is no Preliminary programme in B.A. (Hons.) English
2. Agriculture, Engineering and Technology, Environmental Sciences and Science Education, Technology Education and Educational Technology
