A Nigerian professor Dr. Opeyemi Enoch from the Federal University Oye-Ekiti just claimed to solve The Reimann Hypothesis which has gone unsolved for a hundred and fifty six years.
The puzzle he purportedly solved is one of the seven Millennium Problems in Mathematics which were set by The Clay Mathematics Institute in 2000 and the organisation will award Dr Enoch with a $1 million (£658,000) prize if his claims are confirmed.
Though there are conflicting reports from multiple sources about whether the Riemann Hypothesis has been proved. Several reputable sources claimed it was proved whereas others are raising serious questions about the report. For details visit : http://aperiodical.com/2015/11/riemann-hypothesis-not-proved/
What's interesting about this story for Jambites is :
1) What is the Riemann Hypothesis
2) Why is it so hard to solve
3) Why would some organization pay $1 Million dollars (~N200 million) to solve it ?

Dr Enoch, teaches at the Federal University of Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) in Nigeria.
