Global Update

17-11-2015 09:06:00 +0000There are many reasons why candidates who write the WAEC examination fail, this year’s statistic from the may/june examination showed that only 38.68 percent of 1,593,442 candidates that took the exam passed with 5 credits including credit passes in English language and Mathematics. This translates to only 616,370 candidates passing, not even up to half the candidates registered for the exam.
Chief among the reasons for the failure is the candidate's poor command of english language, due to text messaging abbreviations. This was revealed by the National Examinations Committee of WAEC in a publication in the national mirror.

Improvements can be made to students Grammar by studying of past questions, reading novels and educational books and trying as much as possible to use full words not abbreviations in text messages and emails.
